We would like to draw the attention to the fact that Israel is checking the possibility of
signing the Protocol to prevent suppress and punish the trafficking in persons especially women
and children.
This protocol should be the reference of any legislative measures that will be taken concerning
the issue of trafficking in persons.
Since 1994 there is a recommendation from the public prosecution not to close brothels unless
they are recognized as disturbance for the neighboring environment or a place where minors are exploited. This recommendation should be changed and all brothels should be closed as per the understanding of the spirit of the criminal law of 1977.
