We consider that trafficking in women cannot be addressed at as a solitary problem but as a
part of a variety of social problems and that therefore a multi-disciplinary approach is necessary.
One of the important measures to be taken in order too get results is too fight against all forms
of criminality surrounding the trafficking in women.
It is necessary to reinforce the struggle against pimping including the closure of brothels and
to decriminalize prostitutes de facto and not only de jure as is currently the case.
As pointed out in the report on the communication from the Commission to the Council and the
European Parliament " For further actions in the fight against the trafficking in women":
" As a rule, prostitution is not the result of a lifestyle choice, but is a phenomenon closely
linked to the economic, social, political and cultural possibilities open to women in a given social reality and , in one way or another, is forced upon those who carry it out , and that sexual
exploitation is a serious crime" ( Page 7/23 : Paragraph C II )
The policy of the State of Israel concerning the issue of Trafficking and prostitution is laxist to say the least. We therefore consider that Israel should take her responsibility in the case of the victims of trafficking. The state of Israel is obliged too pay these victims indemnities for allowing the violation of their human rights within her border.
